The central themes in the book is sometimes people act completly different than they actually feel like. The book wraps up with Rose's powers getting more defiant. She comes home and now can get a full taste of the chef's feelings at the time. She finds out her mother did not live her life to the fullist and never found a career that she loved. This would explain the begining of the book where her mom would come home from work bored and unhappy. The most intersting part she found out about…

I am not sure why Rose hasnt moved on from questioning her parents. She is now in high school and is still very fishy about why her family is acting the way they do. Rose calls herself a "Food Psychic". She can tell where the food that she eats comes from and who made it. This "power" lets her also now about the people who make it. This book is a very good book. Probably the best one I have ever read, and the most disturbing. The ending is very sad, but has a very meaningfull moral or messege.
The boy and his father travel the country side, heading south, in search of hope. The stumble apon a house with a barn and orchard. THey are able to get food and pure water from it. They quickly get the supplies and continue heading south. Later on they find a "bunker" that is underground. It gave them a couple…

I was surprised when John Faa decided not to take Lyra on the trip to the North. Seeing as he got her all excited for it after the first roping, and that she could actually be pretty useful, it seems fairly logical to take her with. I think she's probably going to stow away, anyways. It wouldn't be a good story line if she had to wait for the men to get back with Ma Costa. I wasn't surprised when she was told Ma Costa was her nurse, though. Ma Costa is too nice to her, and that's the…

I noticed that Hunter was struggling a lot with everything going around about his dad. His dad had laundered with money, and Hunter figured it out along with everyone else so everyone accused Hunter's dad as a criminal, which greatly affected Hunter's pitching ability. I would've probaby not gone to the game because of what everyone would've thought of my dad and myself. After the incident, Hunter had blown 2 saves that his dad had atteneded. The last game he pitched he held a one run lead…
